Throw n' Smash!
WIP (Preparing for App Store)
"Throw n' Smash!" is an action-packed, fast-paced iPhone game where players take on the role of a ball-throwing hero, on a mission to clear obstacles and reach the finish line. Using intuitive touch controls, players must strategically aim and throw balls at various obstacles, walls, and enemies to smash them and clear a path to the finish line.

Design Process:
The trend in mobile gaming towards hyper-casual experiences often involves taking inspiration from existing, more complex games and simplifying the mechanics. I decided to follow this format by taking inspiration from "Smash Hit," which has not yet been adapted into a hyper-casual format. To capture the essence of this classic, I have created a new game called "Throw n' Smash," which streamlines the mechanics to appeal to a wider, casual audience.
By removing the influence of gravity and providing an unlimited ball count, I have created a more accessible experience that is level-based and maintains a constant speed. Additionally, the incorporation of a cartoon style and character who throws the balls adds a visually appealing aspect that diverges from the camera-based perspective of "Smash Hit." These changes aim to deliver the satisfaction of throwing and smashing in a more approachable format for players with shorter attention spans.
In addition to streamlining the mechanics of "Smash Hit," "Throw n' Smash" also offers a unique twist on the traditional hyper-casual experience. Instead of simply breaking glass, as in the original game, players are presented with a variety of obstacles to smash and destroy, including human-figure enemies that can be shattered into pieces. This innovative aspect differentiates "Throw n' Smash" from other hyper-casual games, which typically only feature obstacles that must be avoided. By giving players the opportunity to actively destroy these obstacles, I aim to add a new level of excitement and engagement to the hyper-casual genre.
